Artist statement:
"Reaching Skyward" is
meant to evoke a sense of growth and upward movement.
Its form is reminiscent of a quartz crystal much like
the ones I had as a somewhat science obsessed child. The
form also draws from a sprouting blade of grass. The
bright green and white color scheme also comes from a
seedling. The facets, angular openings, applied shapes,
and stylized geometric botanical painted images are
meant to reinforce the idea of growth and draw the
viewer's eye upward."
